Rastafarians generally follow a diet called Ital, and the standard is 6.7 vegetarian or vegan/ vegan 8, in order not to make the body a "graveyard" 9 and they also avoid the eating offood that has been artificially preserved, flavored or chemically altered. The rejection of meat (or even dairy) in Rastafarianism refers to the biblical writings:
"וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים, הִנֵּה נָתַתִּי לָכֶם אֶת - כָּל - עֵשֶׂב זֹרֵעַ זֶרַע אֲשֶׁר עַל - פְּנֵי כָל - הָאָרֶץ, וְאֶת - כָּל - הָעֵץ אֲשֶׁר -בּוֹ פְרִי - עֵץ, זֹרֵעַ זָרַע: לָכֶם יִהְיֶה, לְאָכְלָה"
"God said," Now, I grant you all with grass seed over the entire face of the earth, and every tree bearing fruit trees that will become the development of the germ. They serve yourfood. »»
